FSTest Chloramphenicol Rapid Test Kit
Product Overview
The FSTest Chloramphenicol Rapid Test Kit is an immunochromatographic assay designed for the qualitative detection of chloramphenicol residues in seafood, livestock/poultry meat, eggs, and honey samples. Utilizing a sandwich lateral flow immunochromatography principle with pre-coated recombinant antigens, the test cassette provides rapid, visual, and accurate results directly observed by the naked eye without requiring complex laboratory instrumentation.
Key Benefits
· Ultra-High Sensitivity: Achieves a low Limit of Detection (LOD) of 0.1 µg/kg across diverse food matrices.
· Multi-Matrix Compatibility: Optimized for seafood (fish, shrimp), meat (chicken, pork, beef), poultry eggs (chicken, duck), and honey.
· High Specificity: Tested negative with 100 µg/L of mefenthiazole, florfenicol, sulfonamides, quinolones, and other potential interfering substances.
· Rapid On-Site Screening: Delivers clear visual results directly on the cassette window within 5–8 minutes.

Test Procedure
Step 1: Seafood / Meat Pretreatment
Weigh 3.0 ± 0.1g homogenized sample into a 15mL centrifuge tube. Add 5mL Chloramphenicol Reagent A, shake up/down for 3 min, centrifuge at 4000 rpm for 3 min. Evaporate 3mL supernatant at 65°C to dryness. Add 0.5mL Chloramphenicol Reagent B and 0.5mL diluting solution, vortex for 1 min, and let stand to separate (or centrifuge at 4000 rpm for 3 min). Use lower layer for testing.
Step 2: Egg Pretreatment
Weigh 3.0 ± 0.1g smashed egg sample (white and yolk) into a 15mL centrifuge tube. Add 5mL Chloramphenicol Reagent A and 1 bag Chloramphenicol Reagent C, shake up/down for 3 min, centrifuge at 4000 rpm for 3 min. Evaporate 3mL supernatant at 65°C to dryness. Add 0.5mL Chloramphenicol Reagent B and 0.3mL diluting solution, vortex for 1 min, and let stand to separate. Use lower layer for testing.
Step 3: Honey Pretreatment
Weigh 3.0 ± 0.1g honey sample into a 15mL tube, add 3mL purified water, and mix for 2 min (warm at 60–80°C for 1–2 min if needed). Add 5mL Chloramphenicol Reagent A, mix for 3 min, centrifuge at 4000 rpm for 3 min. Evaporate 3mL supernatant at 65°C to dryness. Add 0.5mL diluting solution, vortex for 1 min, and test directly.
Step 4: Assay Execution & Reading
Ensure cassette is at 20–40°C. Pipette 100µL sample solution into a microwell, mix 3–5 times, and stand for 3 min. Transfer all solution into the sample well of the test cassette and interpret results at 5–8 minutes (invalid after 8 minutes).
Performance & Validation
The FSTest Chloramphenicol Rapid Test Kit provides qualitative preliminary screening for chloramphenicol residues at a Limit of Detection (LOD) of 0.1 µg/kg.
Result Interpretation:
· Negative (-): Both C (Control) line and T (Test) line appear.
· Positive (+): C line appears; T line does not appear or is noticeably lighter (T-line intensity is inversely proportional to chloramphenicol concentration).
· Invalid: C line fails to appear, regardless of T line presence.
