FSTest ATP Swab-QuickTest
Product Overview
The FSTest ATP Swab-QuickTest is a rapid surface sampling device engineered for use with an ATP Hygiene Monitor to evaluate surface cleanliness in real time. By measuring Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP)—the universal energy molecule present in living cells and organic residues—the swab triggers a bioluminescent reaction with a luciferase reagent upon activation. The emitted light intensity directly corresponds to total ATP levels, allowing immediate detection of microbial contamination and organic debris post-cleaning.
Key Benefits
· Instant Hygiene Validation: Delivers quantitative Relative Light Unit (RLU) readings within seconds to verify cleaning protocols.
· High-Efficiency Sampling: Pre-moistened swab design with a snap-valve liquid reagent chamber ensures consistent recovery and minimal operational variation.
· Integrated Bioluminescence Assay: Bioluminescent light emission directly scales with ATP concentration for unambiguous digital pass/fail results.
· Broad Surface Application: Optimized for food processing equipment, healthcare surfaces, pharmaceutical lines, and environmental monitoring.

Test Procedure
Step 1: Preparation & Swabbing
Equilibrate swab to room temperature (20–25°C). Screw out the top swab stem and sample a standard 10×10 cm (4×4 inch) area using a 'Z' pattern (vertically, horizontally, and diagonally) at an angle of 5–30° while rotating the tip.
Step 2: Activation
Insert the swab back into its tube. Break the internal blue snap valve at the top stem, then gently squeeze the pinch bulb 3–5 times to release liquid reagent down the shaft. Shake 2–3 times to mix thoroughly.
Step 3: Measurement
Immediately insert the activated swab device vertically into the detection chamber of the FSTest ATP Hygiene Monitor and initiate the test within 30 seconds.
Performance & Validation
The FSTest ATP Swab-QuickTest delivers accurate bioluminescent detection where light intensity directly scales with cellular and organic ATP concentration.
Result Interpretation:
· Pass / Warning / Fail: Automated interpretation displayed on the ATP Hygiene Monitor based on customizable RLU threshold values.
· Interference Notes: Detergents, quaternary ammonium compounds, and peroxide disinfectants show no significant interference under standard working concentrations. Testing is recommended after detergent cleaning and rinsing, but before final chemical disinfection (chlorine disinfectants can alter RLU readings).
