Product Overview
The FSTest InstaPro Swab is a rapid, ready-to-use surface sampling device designed for the qualitative visual detection of protein residues on cleaned surfaces. Utilizing the Biuret reaction, copper ions (Cu2+) form complexes with peptide bonds in proteins under alkaline conditions and reduce to Cu+, which then reacts with bicinchoninic acid (BCA) to yield a purple chromogen. The intensity and speed of the green-to-purple color transition directly correspond to the level of protein residue, offering an accessible method for validating cleaning protocols and demonstrating HACCP due diligence.

Test Procedure
Step 1: Sampling
Twist and pull the swab out of the tube. Swab a standard 10×10 cm (4×4 inch) area in a crisscross pattern (vertically, horizontally, diagonally) while rotating the tip to maximize sample collection.
Step 2: Activation
Place the swab back into its tube. Bend the SnapValve forward and backward to break it, squeeze the bulb twice to expel liquid down the shaft, and wait for 15 seconds.
Step 3: Incubation & Reading
Shake for 5–10 seconds. Allow to stand at 15–25°C for up to 10 minutes and compare the reagent color against the tube label color chart.

Result Interpretation:
· Light Green (Pass): Clean: no further action is required.
· Grey / Light Purple / Dark Purple (Caution / Fail): Residue present: repeat testing, rinsing, or re-cleaning according to your protocol.
· Testing Timing Best Practice: Recommended after detergent cleaning and rinsing, but before final chemical disinfection to prevent wasted chemicals and false inhibition.
