Instrument-Free & Fast: Detecting Organophosphate and Carbamate Residues in 15 Minutes

In the fresh produce industry, speed to market is everything. However, toxic pesticide residue non-compliance poses severe regulatory and financial risks to food producers, distributors, and retailers. Traditional laboratory chromatography (GC-MS / LC-MS) provides precise quantitative data but takes days to generate reports—time that fresh fruits and vegetables simply do not have.
The FSTest Pesticide Combo Card (Cat NO.: 23101 / 23111) bridges this gap. Based on the standard Cholinesterase (ChE) enzyme inhibition method, it delivers clear, qualitative Pass/Fail results in 10 to 15 minutes directly at the farm gate, wholesale market, or receiving dock—completely instrument-free.

1. What is the FSTest Pesticide Combo Card?

The FSTest Pesticide Combo Card is a portable, ready-to-use enzyme inhibition test card designed for high-throughput field screening of Organophosphate and Carbamate pesticide residues in fresh vegetables, fruits, tea, and botanical produce.
The card features a dual-tablet reaction system: a white tablet containing active cholinesterase enzyme and a red tablet containing a chromogenic substrate (indophenol acetate). When clean produce extract is applied, the enzyme hydrolyzes the substrate, turning the white tablet sky blue (Negative/Safe). If pesticide residues exceed safe limits, enzyme activity is inhibited, leaving the tablet white or light blue (Positive/Residue Present).

2. Proven Precision: Independent Validation Data

In addition to full compliance with national rapid testing standards (GB/T 5009.199), the FSTest Pesticide Combo Card has been thoroughly evaluated by independent institutions.
Evaluation data from Chiang Mai University confirmed excellent Limits of Detection (LOD) across representative vegetable matrices:

4. Simple 4-Step Testing Procedure

Streamlining on-site produce testing requires four simple steps:
  1. Extract:
Cut 5g of sample, mix with 10mL of pure water, shake 50+ times, and let stand for 2 minutes.
  1. Inoculate:
Pipette 2 drops (~80µL) of supernatant onto the white enzyme pad. Pre-react at 37°C (or body heat) for 10 minutes.
  1. Fold & React:
Pinch the card to fold the red substrate pad onto the white enzyme pad and hold for 3 minutes.
  1. Interpret Result:
Compare color change:
  • 🔵 Sky Blue = Negative (Safe / No Residue)
  • ⚪ White / Light Blue = Positive (Pesticide Residue Present)
