FSTest Nitrofurantoin Metabolite (AHD) Rapid Test Kit
Product Overview
The FSTest Nitrofurantoin Metabolite (AHD) Rapid Test Kit is an immunochromatographic assay designed for the qualitative screening of 1-aminohydantoin hydrochloride (AHD), the primary metabolite of nitrofurantoin, in aquatic tissue, livestock/poultry meat, and egg samples. Utilizing a sandwich lateral flow immunochromatography principle with pre-coated recombinant antigens, the test cassette provides rapid, visual, and accurate results directly observed by the naked eye without requiring complex laboratory instrumentation.
Key Benefits
· Unified 4-in-1 Pretreatment: Shares a standardized sample extraction workflow with nitrofuran metabolite kits for SEM, AOZ, and AMOZ, enabling efficient batch multi-derivative processing.
· High Sensitivity: Achieves an ultra-low Limit of Detection (LOD) of 0.5 µg/kg across diverse food matrices.
· High Specificity: Excellent specificity with no cross-interference; tested negative with 100 µg/L of chloramphenicol, malachite green, sulfonamides, and other non-target compounds.
· Rapid & Visual Reading: Clear signal interpretation provided directly on the cassette test window within 5–8 minutes.

Test Procedure
Step 1: Sample Weighing
Weigh 2.0 ± 0.1g homogenized tissue or 3.0 ± 0.1g homogenized egg into a 15mL centrifuge tube.
Step 2: Derivatization & Extraction
Add 5mL Furan Reagent A and 0.3mL Furan Reagent B, vortex for 1 min, and incubate in an 80°C water bath for 15 min. Add 1mL Furan Reagent C, 0.6mL Furan Reagent D, and 5mL Furan Reagent E. Vortex for 1 min and centrifuge at 4000 rpm for 5 min.
Step 3: Evaporation & Reconstitution
Transfer 3mL supernatant (or all if <3mL for eggs) into a 10mL centrifuge tube and evaporate to dryness at 65°C with hot air or nitrogen. Add 0.8mL Furan Reagent F and 0.5mL diluting solution, vortex for 30s, and centrifuge at 4000 rpm for 3 min (or let stand to separate). Remove the upper layer liquid; the remaining lower liquid is ready for testing.
Step 4: Assay Execution & Reading
Ensure cassette is at 20–40°C. Pipette 100µL sample solution into a microwell, mix 3–5 times, and stand for 3 min. Transfer all solution into the sample well of the test cassette and interpret results at 5–8 minutes (invalid after 8 minutes).
Performance & Validation
The FSTest Nitrofurantoin Metabolite (AHD) Rapid Test Kit provides qualitative preliminary screening for AHD contamination at a Limit of Detection (LOD) of 0.5 µg/kg.
Result Interpretation:
· Negative (-): Both C (Control) line and T (Test) line appear.
· Positive (+): C line appears; T line does not appear or is noticeably lighter (T-line intensity is inversely proportional to AHD concentration).
· Invalid: C line fails to appear, regardless of T line presence.
